Rosenthal wins in grad student’s unofficial CPCE prep survey!

  Hello Dr. Rosenthal, I hope you won't think we are obsessive, but my girlfriends and I did kind of an informal study on CPCE preparation programs. Blame it on our research courses if you must. Anyway, all eight of us pitched in and purchased all of the major books, videos, flash cards, and programs we could find.  Although all the programs had some positive aspects, every single one of us picked your Encyclopedia of Counseling (the so-called Purple Book) and your Vital Information and Review Questions Audio Program(often referred to by students as the listen and learn CDs) were the clear winners.  Now I know from reading your website that a lot of students have praised the quality of your products, but few mention the fact that they are a bargain. The Purple Book  -- at under $60 -- has a lot more information than competitive books.   ________  advertises his book that costs more than yours, in the counseling magazines, but unless you already know an awful lot about the material, we felt he doesn't give you enough information to pass the real exam. We felt the same was true of the text recently released one by __________. Your Encyclopedia of Counseling  has more information than some of the complete programs we purchased costing over $300.00.  We ought to know; we paid our money to buy them and compare them. Please keep up the fine work you are doing. I can tell you that the graduate counseling students do appreciate your contributions.  I only wish I had actually had you as a professor for a class.  You have a real gift for teaching.
